The behavioral approach is thus an approach based on initiation of structures and subordinates welfare considerations. Leaders who are keen on these two concepts are effective leaders (Stojkovic, Kalinich & Klofas, 2014). The behavioral approach originated from the Ohio and Michigan research studies on effective leadership. The Ohio research studies concluded that there is effective leadership in an organization if the organizations leaders put structures in place and they also have high consideration of employees. The Michigan research studies divided supervisory behavior into production oriented and employee oriented approaches.The sales manager at Best Buy was very concerned with the welfare of all employees low his department. He was also not dictator when it came to making decisions.
